Teachers getting to the bottom of bad behaviour

Corporal Punishment was once a commonly used and accepted part of school life in the UK, and not all that long ago. There are many famous people around who found out to their cost that unruly behaviour resulted in the slipper, cane, strap or hairbrush. Here is a list of UK celebs who had schoolteachers that got to the bottom of unruly behaviour.

Beautiful English actress Elizabeth Hurley was slippered at Harriet Costello School, Hampshire, England. When asked in a newspaper Q&A which teacher she most remembered and why? she said her maths teacher because he/she whacked her with the slipper/plimsoll.

Liz is a model, actress, producer, international celebrity, and alleged spanking lover.

Prince Charles` companion, Camilla Parker-Bowles, was caned at the strict Dumbrells school in Sussex, England. Canings were common in those days at Dumbrells. A fellow pupil who attended the school with Camilla said: "children would be punished with a lash of the cane to the bare buttocks for any misdemeanour."

Camilla attended Dumbrells from the age of 5-10, then went on to Queen`s Gate School in South Kensington, London. She is a longtime companion of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales.

Gorgeous blonde TV presenter Fiona Phillips, who has admitted to being a bit of a wayward tearaway for a time at school, was a regular visitor to the schoolmaster`s study for spankings with the slipper. The Brit beauty commented: "he would regularly bend me over and give me the slipper." "I was always being told to bend over."

Fiona eventually settled down at school and went on to University gaining 8 O-levels & 4 A-levels, and is currently a popular TV presenter in the UK.

Tracy Shaw, the actress, model, 1996 rear of the year and sexiest soap star in 2001, received whacks on her rear at her catholic school. She attempted to catch up on some schoolwork outside but the rain came down and made a mess of it resulting in Tracy receiving corporal punishment in the form of a spanking with the slipper.

Once a successful singer and now a popular TV presenter, Cilla Black has always been an outward going entertainer even during her time at St. Anthony`s catholic school in Liverpool, England, which resulted in her receiving Six of the Best a couple of times from Sister Marie Julie. Cilla commented: "I was a natural show off and must confess to experiencing six of the cane twice at school."

Cilla went on to become a very successful singer and in recent years an equally successful TV presenter.

TV presenter Carol Vorderman, well known for her brains as well as her good looks, was caned at school for participating in a playground game which was obviously against the rules. Carol said: "I got the cane for playing slaphand, which when I look back now I think was a bit harsh."

Carol made her name as expert mathamatician on TV game show Countdown and now presents numerous TV shows.

Both the slipper & the cane were very much a part of school life for British actress Shirley Anne Field. She said: "If you misbehaved, there was a choice of punishments given. you could either do a chore, such as cardinalling the bathroom floor with a sticky red polish - which often stuck more to you than to the floor - or you could be locked in the coal cellar for an hour. But that was for the first offence only. A second infraction and you got the slipper on your behind. The third time and sister nancy went for the cane."

Boxer Jane Couch was on the receiving end of frequent over-the-knee spankings from headmaster Mr. Leadbetter at Milton Street Junior School in Lancashire for picking fights with kids at a nearby school.

Jane`s fighting instincts were later put to good use in the boxing ring as she went on to become British & World champion.

Former Duchess of Windsor Wallis Simpson was often spanked with a hairbrush at her private school, Arundell, by head teacher Miss Carroll as a result of her rebellious nature. She was also spanked often at home, again with a hairbrush.

Wallis later married Edward, Duke of Windsor, and became the Duchess of Windsor.

British actress Angela Douglas was spanked with the back of a hairbrush on numerous occasions at St. Martha`s convent boarding school, Sussex, England.

Angela went on to become a successful actress, appearing in the now legendary Carry On films among others.

British athlete Ashia Hansen, raised and educated in Ghana, was caned at school in Africa, and was also given the slipper and ruler from her father when she misbehaved growing up.

Ashia has won the Gold Medal at the European & Commonwealth Games, and World Indoor Championships.
