Shirley Hall (above left) pictured in the
mid 1970`s as a pupil at Meadway school in Reading, England - a
time when corporal punishment was still in its pomp, and she
herself was on the receiving end of the slipper. After throwing
her teacher`s slipper - which she`d had before - out of the
window when he was out of the room, she said: "someone
grassed (told) on me and he made me fetch it and then whacked my
backside with it six times....ouch - the memory."
