A: United

Q: Were
you raised by your mother & father?
A: Yes I
was.
Q: Was
your upbringing strict or easy-going?
A: I
would not say it was over strict. Like many households at that
time. But limits we certainly set and we all knew about it if we
crossed the line!
Somethings
or moments though could have been seen as over strict or even
over protective. And they did not always get it right but they
always took interest in what I was doing or up to – good or
bad and for this I am very gratefull!
Q: Were
you punished when you misbehaved?
A: Yes I
was (only if I got caught though lol) this could be anything from
being not allowed out for a week or even month, or a sore behind
or worse still both a sore bottom and a grounding.
Q: Were
you ever smacked, whacked or spanked?
A: I was
spanked at home , not often and this decreased as I got older.
But yep it certainly happened.
Q: Who
was the disciplinarian in your household?
A: Dad
hands down. My mother would never smack me. She would though
always say “Wait until I tell your dad” she didn’t
always do this and many times covered me. It was only when I had
done somthing very bad or had driven my mum nuts that she would
follow through and tell my dad what ever it was I had done wrong.
Then I dreaded the call to “come down stairs”
Q: If you
received CP at what age was the first and last time you received
it?
A: I cant
recall the first time, but it started quite late. Many upheavals
in the house before then, but when things calmed down it was made
known that things had changed without actually sitting down and
telling us.
Last time
was in my last year at secondary school. I had been sent home for
messing around with some friends on a camping weekend. The
teacher actually walked me right to my house where my dad was
outside washing his car. He was horrified. But it was the last
time he ever punished me in that way.
Q: Did
you receive spontanious smacks, more ritualised whackings, or
both?
A: Not
spontaneous no, but not really in any ritual sense of the word. I
know that`s what maybe people would like to hear but it just was
not like that. It was more of get in here, and either a telling
off or a straight “your in for it girl” and over very
quickly.
Q: If you
received ritualised whackings describe a typical punishment
ritual?
A: I
would be called down usually by my first and last name. When I
heard this I knew I was in trouble, but it was not a shock as I
would normally know I was in for it beforehand. Possibly then a
short lecture would be given or more like a loud telling off.
Then he would just say get them down or get them off pointing to
my lower half. Couldn`t ever refuse and didn’t. Then I just
bent over whatever he wanted me to or leaned forward, hands on
knees and took my punishment. Not dignified especially as I got
older and I did have some resentment the last few times, but it
never lasted long. It was just his way I suppose.
Q: Were
you punished with hand and/or implements - if implements please
state which?
A:
Usually a slipper, 1 or 2 times with a belt and a few times with
a cane like thing. Not a school cane, it was a rod used for
garden dowel or something like that. Stung like nothing I knew
before but it was very rare. Usually only the slipper (which I
still don’t like today)
Q: Did
you receive otk spankings, bend over, or both?
A: When
younger 1 or 2 otk type spankings, rest were always with me bent
over on my own.
Q: If you
had to bend over was there a specific instruction?
A:
Usually just bent over my bed or a chair or leaning forward
grabbing my knees.
Q: Were
the whackings over full clothing, knickers or the bare bottom?
A: For
the most part bare bottom, this was one aspect he was very clear
about as was my mum even though she never smacked me ever. She
was good at using one liners that mentioned my bare behind. Worse
one of all was when I had friends round, we got into some kind of
hassel with next door`s kids. She lost her temper and said out
loud that when dad got home I would be given a very sore bare
backside. Think it was worse her saying that in front of friends
than the dread of a smack. And after all that I didn’t get
punished for the incident. My dad brushed it off (much to mum`s
horror) that was part of his incosistancy sometimes.
Q: When
you were whacked what was the min/max number of whacks you
received?
A:
Anywhere from 2 or 3 up to a dozen or so. Neither of us counted,
I just gritted my teeth and got through it as best anyone could
in that situation.
Q: What
schools did you attend and in what part of the country?
A:
Secondary school - that`s all I`m saying on that one lol
Q: Did
you ever receive CP at school and if so please describe?
A: Yes I
did until it was fully stopped around the mid 1980s. More so when
younger. I had the slipper from my form teacher, nice lady but
strict as hell and a slippering from the head of year. A few of
my friends also got the same but we kind of took it as a badge of
honour. My form teacher could really make a sting if she wanted
to.
Compared
to some of the hidings I got at home It was a breeze many times.
