Charlize Theron Wins Best Actress Oscar

South African Beauty Wins Ultimate Prize

SF&R Report: 2nd March, 2004

Gorgeous South African actress Charlize Theron won the 2004 Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the movie, Monster, and in an emotional speech thanked her mother Gerda for her support in making her American dream come true.

Gerda Theron raised her superstar daughter strictly, demanding the highest standards of behaviour and good manners, and would soundly spank the young Charlize`s bottom if those standards weren`t met.

Charlize - known by regular SF&R visitors as the actress with the much spanked bottom - has often spoke in glowing appreciation at the way her mother raised her, and the discipline she was given.

She even recalls a particularly memorable and very sound thrashing she was given by her mother with a wire hanger on her backside for a misdemeanour, and added: "I can't tell you how grateful I am."
